Roofers install, maintain, repair, and replace roofs using a variety of materials and methods. As part of their job, roofers will also inspect existing roofs for repair area, weatherproof, waterproof, and damp-proof roofing surfaces, foundation surfaces, floor slabs and bridge decks. They may also install various types of flashings, drain inserts and clamps.

You have good physical stamina.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Install, maintain, repair and replace roofing systems
  • They work with a variety of materials including shingles, slates, shakes, roofing tiles, sheet metal, etc.
  • Weatherproofing, waterproofing, and damp-proofing various surfaces
  • Work in industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential environments

Hourly Pay

Salary Range: $28 – $34/hr (based on 2023 collective agreement Journeyperson hourly rate)
