I enjoy the versatility needed to be able to fix any air conditioning or heating problem that comes my way.
Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanics work with primary or secondary refrigeration and air conditioning systems. They install, troubleshoot and repair systems such as residential central air conditioning and commercial & industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
You have good physical strength.
You like working with machinery.
You enjoy careful & exacting work.
Responsibilities
- Remove refrigerants from refrigeration & air conditioning systems
- Install, remove, recycle, store and dispose of refrigerants
- Transport, handle and use refrigerants & other dangerous goods
- Use electrical and other measuring & testing devices
- Solder, braze, weld and use other pipe-joining techniques
- Work with refrigeration & air conditioning units, appliances and accessories designed for the use of natural or propane gas as a fuel for heating or cooling that do not exceed 400,000 BTU (117 kW) input
